About
Located just minutes from Asheville, Lake Powhatan Glamping provides a luxury camping experience in Pisgah National Forest. The campground features 12 fully furnished canvas platform tents manufactured by Asheville's Diamond Brand Outdoors, each measuring 12x16 feet and accommodating up to four guests. Each tent includes a queen bed with linens, a foldable cot, bedside table, electric charging, indoor and outdoor furniture, and a covered porch with a fire ring and picnic table.
The glamping sites are situated at 2,200 feet elevation in a heavily wooded area on the banks of Lake Powhatan, surrounded by the Appalachian Mountains. Guests enjoy direct access to the lake's sandy swimming beach and trout fishing, with brown, brook, and rainbow trout stocked regularly. Personal watercraft are prohibited on the lake to protect the riparian ecosystem. The facility borders the 6,000-acre Bent Creek Experimental Forest, offering 44 miles of hiking and mountain biking trails suitable for all ability levels. Hot showers and flush toilets are available in shared bathhouse facilities.
Nearby attractions include the Blue Ridge Parkway, NC Arboretum, Biltmore Estate, Sliding Rock, and Looking Glass Falls. The French Broad River is also nearby for additional fishing, wading, and tubing opportunities. Reservations are available through Recreation.gov, with walk-ins permitted if sites are available.
