The campground sits at approximately 4,700 feet elevation and is accessible via California Highway 233 and Forest Road 8S70 from North Fork. The seasonal access road typically opens in June, weather permitting, and closes with the first significant snowfall. This is a popular area with heavy usage during peak season, so arriving early in the day on weekends is recommended. As a primitive forest service campground, amenities are limited.
