About
Whiskers Campground is a small, lightly-used campground located on the North Fork of Willow Creek in Sierra National Forest's Bass Lake Ranger District. Situated at approximately 5,400 feet elevation, the campground is accessed via Central Camp Road (6S42), an unimproved dirt road not maintained for low-clearance vehicles, approximately 4 miles from the east end of Bass Lake. The campground operates seasonally from June through November and offers a rustic camping experience with vault toilets and garbage service at the entrance. No potable water is available on-site, so campers must bring their own. The area is designated bear country, requiring proper food storage in bear-proof containers or lockers. Sites are limited to a maximum of 6 people and can accommodate vehicles up to 20 feet in length. Each campsite includes a table and firepit. The North Fork of Willow Creek provides a scenic backdrop for this quiet campground. The remote location and unimproved access road contribute to lighter usage compared to other campgrounds in the area, making it appealing for campers seeking solitude. The campground is a short drive from Bass Lake's recreational opportunities while offering a more primitive camping experience.
