About
Wishon Point Campground occupies a prime location across from Bass Lake in the Sierra National Forest's Bass Lake Ranger District. At 3,400 feet elevation, the campground offers a comfortable climate for summer camping. Thick stands of manzanita, oak, cedar, and pine trees create natural barriers between sites, providing shade and privacy throughout the camp. The campground contains 47 sites, each equipped with a picnic table, stone fire pit, and pedestal grill. Flush toilets and drinking water are provided. Firewood is available for purchase from the camp host. Note that interior roads are narrow and bumpy with dirt parking spurs, making the campground unsuitable for motorhomes over 24 feet or trailers over 20 feet. Bass Lake is renowned for fishing (bass, trout, bluegill, catfish) and supports motorized boating, kayaking, water skiing, and swimming. The Wishon Point boat launch with accessible restrooms sits adjacent to the campground. Nearby hiking includes Willow Creek Trail, Goat Mountain Trail, and the Way-of-the-Mono Interpretive Trail. Miller's Landing Resort, located nearby, offers pay showers, laundry, a general store, and restaurant.
