About

Spring Cove Campground is situated across the street from Bass Lake in the Sierra National Forest, nestled within a shaded grove of oak, pine and cedar trees at 3,400 feet elevation. The campground features 62 campsites that are closely clustered together, with both paved and dirt-surfaced parking spurs. Due to tight turns and configurations throughout the facility, the campground is best suited for tents and small RVs with a maximum vehicle length of 30 feet. Large travel trailers and RVs are not recommended. Bass Lake provides abundant recreational opportunities including a beach and boat ramp for swimming, motorized boating, canoeing, kayaking, water skiing, sailing and fishing for bass, trout, bluegill and catfish. The 2.6-mile Spring Cove Trail can be accessed directly from the campground. Other nearby trails include Willow Creek (2.7 miles), Goat Mountain (2.6 miles) and the Way-of-the-Mono Interpretive Trail (1 mile). Educational programs are offered on weekends during summer months, with schedules posted at the Bass Lake office and campgrounds. The campground is located in the Bass Lake Ranger District, an area known for its variety of fish as well as the bald and golden eagles that make their home here. Yosemite National Park can be reached in under an hour, making it an ideal day trip destination. The facility is managed by California Land Management and includes on-site security and camp hosts during the operating season.

Directions

From Highway 41, take Bass Lake turn-off (Road 222). Head southeast about 3.5 miles to the Bass Lake Campground registration office for check-in (keep to right). The campground is southeast another 4 miles.
