About

Westlake Day Use sits on the western banks of Lewisville Lake, a nearly 30,000-acre reservoir on the Elm Fork of the Trinity River in northern Texas. The facility features four group shelters equipped with large grills, water, and electric hookups, all within walking distance of restrooms. The lake rests above an archeological site where prehistoric remains dating back to 12,000 B.C. have been found, making this one of the oldest human-inhabited sites in the Southwest United States. Lewisville Lake hosts numerous fishing tournaments throughout the year, drawing anglers seeking trophy-sized bass. The warm water temperatures create ideal conditions for boating, jet skiing, and other water sports. While the lake generally has low visibility, its extensive surface area provides ample space for recreational activities. The facility is conveniently located about 40 minutes from Dallas, with horseback riding and golfing opportunities nearby.
