About

Lakeland Pavilion is a group campground designed for large gatherings on the eastern shores of Lavon Lake in Collin County, Texas. Managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the facility centers around a covered pavilion equipped with 12 picnic tables, four cookers, a campfire ring, and electric and water hookups. The surrounding flat, open grounds provide ample space for recreational activities and tent camping for groups of up to 200 people. Lavon Lake, fed by the East Fork tributary of the Trinity River, spans 21,400 acres with depths reaching 59 feet. The lake offers excellent fishing for largemouth bass, white bass, blue catfish, and crappie. Boating access is available through Lakeland Park's boat ramps. The nearby Trinity Trail provides opportunities for hiking and equestrian use, while the Heard Natural Science Museum and Wildlife Sanctuary in McKinney offers nature exhibits and trails for those seeking educational excursions.
