About

Ray Roberts Lake State Park Isle du Bois is the largest unit of this state park complex, situated on the southern shore of Ray Roberts Lake in Denton County. The campground provides a variety of camping options including 102 sites with 30/20-amp electric and water hookups in the Deer Ridge and Quail Run loops, 13 premium sites with 50/30/20-amp service, and 53 primitive walk-in tent sites in the Hawthorne and Wild Plum camping areas. Equestrian campers have dedicated sites in the Bluestem Grove area with hitching posts and tethering facilities. The unit features an Interpretive Center, beach swimming areas (no lifeguards), fishing piers, and boat ramps. The 2.8-mile Randy Bell Scenic Trail is a paved concrete path accessible from most camping loops. Multiple ADA-accessible campsites and restrooms are available throughout, and the park offers all-terrain and beach wheelchairs for visitor use. Due to its proximity to the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, the park frequently reaches capacity on weekends and holidays. Advance reservations through Texas State Parks are strongly recommended.
