Ray Roberts Lake State Park Isle Du Bois

Open — Open year-round. Park gates open 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily. The entire Isle du Bois unit will be closed from 8:00 a.m. January 9 and will reopen at 8:00 a.m. January 12 for a park hunt. Reservations are strongly recommended as the park often reaches capacity.

Ray Roberts Lake State Park Isle du Bois Unit sits on the south shore of Ray Roberts Lake in Denton County, approximately one hour north of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. The name Isle du Bois means "Island of the Trees," and the unit offers a natural escape with over 200 campsites spread across multiple camping areas including Deer Ridge, Quail Run, Hawthorne, and Wild Plum. The campground caters to diverse camping styles with 115 RV sites featuring water and 20/30-amp electric hookups, 13 sites with 50-amp service, 53 walk-in primitive tent sites, 6 equestrian sites, 8 equestrian sites with hookups, and group camping areas. Most sites include picnic tables and fire rings. Several sites are wheelchair accessible. The park features modern restrooms with hot showers throughout the camping areas. Recreational opportunities are abundant with swimming at a designated beach area (no lifeguards), a fishing pier extending into the lake, fish cleaning stations, boat ramps, and miles of hiking, biking, and equestrian trails. The 29,000-acre lake offers excellent fishing for largemouth bass, crappie, white bass, and catfish. An interpretive center, kids' fishing pond, playground, volleyball courts, and geocaching opportunities round out the amenities. Reservations are strongly recommended as the park often reaches capacity, particularly on weekends.

Located on the south side of Ray Roberts Lake in Denton County. From Pilot Point, take FM 455 west to the park entrance at 100 PW 4137.
