About
East Fork Campground is a well-developed USACE facility on the southern shores of Lavon Lake, a 21,400-acre reservoir fed by the East Fork Trinity River. Located east of Wylie, Texas, it serves as a popular escape for Dallas-area residents seeking lakeside recreation. The campground offers 50 RV sites with water and electric hookups (including 50-amp service, unique among Lavon Lake campgrounds), 12 tent-only walk-in sites, and an equestrian loop with portable horse stalls at each site. Facilities include hot showers, restrooms, and a dump station near the park entrance. Two four-lane boat ramps provide lake access for boaters and anglers, while a swimming beach offers waterfront relaxation. The Trinity Trail trailhead adjacent to the campground allows hikers and equestrians to explore the area. Sites feature covered picnic tables and grills. The campground operates with gate hours closing at 10 p.m. and reopening at 10 a.m., with day-use facilities closing at sunset. A group shelter accommodating up to 175 guests is available year-round by reservation.
