About

East Fork Campground sits on the southern shores of Lavon Lake, providing a convenient outdoor escape for Dallas area residents and visitors to Northern Texas. The campground is operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and offers a variety of camping options to accommodate different preferences and needs. The facility features 50 RV sites with water and electric hookups, making it the only campground at Lavon Lake to offer 50-amp electricity service. Additionally, 12 tent-only sites are available for traditional camping experiences. For equestrian enthusiasts, the Equestrian Loop provides campsites equipped with portable horse stalls. A group campground accommodates up to 175 guests and is available year-round. While individual campsites do not have sewer hookups, a dump station is conveniently located near the park entrance. Modern amenities include hot shower facilities and two boat ramps for easy lake access. Lavon Lake spans 21,400 acres and reaches depths of approximately 59 feet, flowing from the East Fork tributary of the Trinity River. The lake is popular for boating and fishing activities. Adjacent to the campground, the Trinity Trail trailhead offers opportunities for horseback riding and hiking. The park also features a swimming beach for summer recreation. Nearby attractions include the Heard Natural Science Museum and Wildlife Sanctuary. The park entrance gate operates from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, with controlled access overnight.

Directions

From Lavon, travel south on Highway 78, turn right onto County Road 384. Travel until you come to a stop sign, then turn left onto Skyview Drive and travel west for approximately 1.6 miles. East Fork will be on your right.
