About

Clear Lake Campground occupies a prime location on the shores of Lavon Lake, just northeast of Dallas and east of the famous Southfork Ranch from the TV series Dallas. As the only shaded campground on the 21,400-acre lake, it offers a peaceful setting with grassy fields and leafy shade trees for campers seeking respite from the Texas sun. The campground features 23 sites equipped with water, sewer, and electric hookups, along with amenities including hot showers, a boat ramp, and a fishing dock. A large group camping area can accommodate up to 200 people and includes a picnic shelter with electric and water hookups, four cookers, a campfire ring, and a playing field for sports. Visitors enjoy year-round outdoor activities including fishing for channel catfish, crappie, striped bass, and hybrid bass, as well as boating, hiking, and picnicking along the East Fork of the Trinity River. The nearby town of Wylie features a wildlife rescue and education center where visitors can observe lions, leopards, cougars, and bobcats.

Directions

From US Highway 380 in Princeton, take South 2nd Street (County Road 982) south. County Road 982 becomes County Road 735. At the 4-way stop sign past the Lavon Lake Camp and Conference Center, turn right on County Road 436 and follow signs into Clear Lake Park.
