About

Hickory Creek campground sits on the Hickory Creek Arm of Lewisville Lake, managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in northern Texas. The campground offers 121 electric hookup sites and serves as an excellent base for exploring the almost 30,000-acre reservoir, which attracts visitors year-round with warm summer water temperatures and excellent fishing opportunities. The lake stems from the Elm Fork of the Trinity River and provides plenty of room for boating and watercraft. Park amenities include hot showers, a dump station, and a boat ramp with direct water access. Visitors enjoy picnicking, swimming, boating, fishing, and exploring 50 miles of natural surface and paved trails surrounding the lake. Photographers appreciate the wildlife and colorful sunsets over the water. Located just 35 miles from downtown Dallas, Hickory Creek offers convenient access to urban amenities while providing a lakeside camping experience. The area features several public golf courses and horseback riding opportunities nearby. This is a camping-only facility with no day use permitted in the campground area. Campers are limited to 14 days in any 30-day period.
