Hickory Creek sits on the 30,000-acre Lewisville Lake reservoir in the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area, making it one of the most accessible Corps of Engineers campgrounds in North Texas. The campground occupies the Hickory Creek Arm of the lake and provides direct water access via an on-site boat ramp. The 121 campsites include 111 standard electric sites with 50-amp hookups and water connections, plus 10 primitive walk-to tent sites. Site driveways are paved, with both back-in and pull-through configurations available. Several pull-through sites accommodate rigs up to 90 feet, while standard sites typically handle vehicles up to 45-64 feet. Each site includes a fire ring and lantern pole. Facilities include hot showers, flush restrooms, and a dump station. The lake offers warm-water fishing for largemouth bass, catfish, and crappie, along with swimming and watercraft activities. Over 50 miles of natural surface and paved trails surround the lake for hiking and biking.

From I-35E northbound: Take exit 458A toward Swisher Rd/FM-2181, continue onto N Stemmons Fwy, turn right onto N Lake Dallas Dr, sharp right onto W Hundley Dr, continue on Turbeville Rd, turn left onto Point Vista Rd. Campground is 0.5 miles on the right. From I-35E southbound: Take exit 457 toward Lake Dallas Dr, take ramp toward Turbeville Rd/Hundley Dr, turn left onto Turbeville Rd, left onto Point Vista Rd. Campground is 0.5 miles on the right.
