About

Hackberry Pavilion is situated in Avalon Park on the south shore of Lavon Lake, a 21,400-acre reservoir fed by the East Fork tributary of the Trinity River in northern Texas. The facility features a large pavilion capable of accommodating 500 guests, making it ideal for group gatherings and events. A sandy swimming beach is available during warm months, and the location provides easy access to the lake for boating and fishing. Lavon Lake is known for its largemouth bass, white bass, blue catfish, and crappie fishing. The nearby Trinity Trail offers excellent opportunities for horseback riding and hiking through the scenic landscape. The area features deciduous hackberry trees, along with pecan, oak, American elm, and cottonwood in wooded sections. The pavilion is managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and is available for rental year-round. The facility operates as day-use only, with hours from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Ground fires, trenching, leveling, and digging are prohibited. The town of Wylie is nearby and offers additional attractions including a wildlife rescue and education center.
