Westcliff Park is a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers campground situated on the southwestern shore of Belton Lake, a 12,300-acre reservoir created in 1954 on the Leon River. The campground sits on a bluff with all sites offering lake views, and many positioned directly on the shoreline. Sites feature covered picnic tables, and campfires are permitted. The park accommodates both RV and tent campers with 27 standard electric sites featuring 50-amp service and water hookups, capable of handling vehicles up to 67 feet. Four primitive tent-only sites provide a more rustic experience. Modern amenities include flush restrooms with showers and sinks, a vault restroom, and a dump station for RV waste disposal. Beyond camping, Westcliff offers a two-lane boat ramp with courtesy dock, a seasonal swimming beach, and a playground. Belton Lake is known for excellent fishing, particularly for hybrid striped bass, largemouth bass, white bass, catfish, and sunfish. The area supports wildlife including deer, wild turkey, great blue herons, and occasional bald eagles.

Directions

From Interstate 35 in Belton, Texas take the 294 exit (6th Avenue or Farm-to-Market Road 93) west. Turn north onto 317 (Main Street) and drive for two miles. Turn west on FM 439 (Lake Road) and go four miles. Turn right on Sparta Road, then take a right on Westcliff Park Road to the park.
