About

Westcliff Park is a multi-use recreation area located on the southwestern shore of Belton Lake, a 12,300-acre U.S. Army Corps of Engineers reservoir. The campground features 26 single RV sites and one tent site with 50-amp electric and potable water service, plus four primitive tent sites without hookups. Most campsites are positioned directly on the shoreline with views of the lake. The park includes a waterborne restroom with showers and a sanitary dump station. The day-use area offers covered picnic tables, a designated swim beach, a two-lane boat ramp accessible year-round, and a playground for children. The campground sits on a bluff with mostly open terrain and scattered trees providing shade at select sites and picnic areas. With 136 miles of shoreline, Belton Lake is known for excellent fishing opportunities including hybrid striped bass, largemouth bass, white bass, catfish, and sunfish. The lake area provides habitat for deer, wild turkey, water birds including Great Blue herons, ducks, geese, songbirds, and occasional bald eagles. Park entrance hours are 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., with day-use areas closing at 8:30 p.m. A gatehouse attendant is available Friday 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday-Sunday 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. during the operating season.

Directions

From Interstate 35 in Belton, take the 294 exit (6th Avenue or Farm-to-Market Road 93) west. Turn north onto 317 (Main Street) and drive two miles. Turn west on FM 439 (Lake Road) and go four miles. Turn right on Sparta Road, then right on Westcliff Park Road to the park entrance.
