About
White Flint Park is a popular lakeside campground on Belton Lake, created when the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers constructed Belton Dam in 1954. Located on the Leon River just upstream of its confluence with the Little River, the 12,300-acre lake offers 136 miles of shoreline for fishing, boating, and water sports. The campground is best known for its quiet screened shelters positioned along the waterfront. The facility includes 12 screened overnight shelters and 13 standard electric RV sites, all equipped with water and 50-amp electric hookups. Every site features a covered picnic table, charcoal grill, and fire ring. A centrally located comfort station provides flush toilets, showers, and sinks. An RV dump station with non-potable water is available. The day-use area includes a multi-lane boat ramp and courtesy dock. Belton Lake supports excellent fishing for hybrid striped bass, largemouth bass, white bass, catfish, and sunfish. The area attracts diverse wildlife including hawks, Great Blue herons, bald eagles, Rio Grande turkeys, and numerous songbird species. A man-made wetland between White Flint and Winkler Parks adds 25 acres of habitat.
