White Flint Park

Closed — Closed for the winter season. Reopens March 2, 2025. The boat ramp remains open year-round. Park entrance hours when open are 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

About

White Flint Park is located on the western shore of Belton Lake's upper section, a 12,300-acre reservoir created by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The campground offers 13 RV sites with 50-amp electric and potable water hookups, along with 12 screened overnight shelters equipped with 15-amp outlets and exterior water faucets. Each campsite features a covered picnic table and grill. The park includes modern amenities such as waterborne restrooms with hot showers and a conveniently located sanitary dump station near the entrance. A two-lane boat ramp provides easy lake access for boaters and anglers, with the ramp remaining open year-round even when the campground is closed seasonally. The campsites are positioned along the shoreline in a partially forested setting, providing a mix of sun and shade. Belton Lake's 136 miles of shoreline offer exceptional recreation opportunities including fishing, water sports, and wildlife viewing. The area attracts hawks, Great Blue herons, waterfowl, songbirds, bobwhite quail, Rio Grande turkeys, and occasional bald eagles. A man-made wetland between White Flint and nearby Winkler Park adds 25 acres of wildlife habitat. Reservations are available through Recreation.gov.

Directions

From Interstate 35 in Temple, take State Highway 36 west towards Gatesville. Just after crossing the Leon River bridge, turn right on White Flint Park Road and follow it to the park entrance.
