About

Live Oak Ridge Campground sits on the shores of Belton Lake, a 12,300-acre reservoir created by Belton Dam on the Leon River. Operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, this year-round facility provides 48 campsites suitable for both tents and RVs. Each site includes water and 50-amp electric hookups, a covered picnic table, and a charcoal grill. The terrain is flat and grassy with varying levels of shade from the campground's namesake live oak trees. Facilities include two restroom buildings with flush toilets, sinks, and showers, plus a dump station. Recreation amenities include a multi-lane boat ramp with courtesy dock, playground, and a reservable activity center. Miller Springs Nature Area, with hiking trails, is located adjacent to the park. Belton Lake offers excellent fishing, boating, and wildlife viewing opportunities. The area attracts hawks, great blue herons, various waterfowl, songbirds, wild turkey, and occasional bald eagles. Springtime brings abundant wildflowers throughout the park.
