About

Temples Lake Park is a day-use facility on the southern shore of Belton Lake, a 12,300-acre reservoir created by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in 1954 on the Leon River. The park provides extensive amenities for day visitors including 62 covered picnic sites with grills, three restroom buildings with flush toilets, an outdoor shower, two multi-lane boat ramps, a courtesy dock, playground, and basketball and volleyball courts. Belton Lake offers excellent fishing for hybrid striped bass, largemouth bass, white bass, catfish, and sunfish. A seasonal swim beach provides water access for swimmers. A reservable pavilion accommodates groups of up to 80 people. No overnight camping is permitted at this facility. Visitors seeking overnight accommodations should consider other Belton Lake campgrounds such as Cedar Ridge Park or Winkler Park.
