About
West Park is a day-use recreation area managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, situated within the McNary Dam Wildlife Area along the Mid-Columbia River in Eastern Oregon. The park is located just downstream of McNary Dam near the town of Umatilla. The park offers two reservable picnic shelters, each equipped with electricity, multiple picnic tables, and fire grills. The Steelhead Shelter accommodates up to eight picnic tables with two fire grills, while the larger Coho Shelter provides space for ten picnic tables and two fire grills. The park's mature shade trees create a pleasant environment for day-use activities. Recreation opportunities include two softball fields and a children's playset. The park provides close access to the McNary Dam Wildlife Area trail system for hiking and wildlife viewing. Nearby attractions include the Pacific Salmon Visitor Center and the Oregon Fish Viewing Room. Pets must be restrained at all times, and glass containers are not permitted in the park.
