About

Plymouth Park Campground is managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and located on small islands in Lake Umatilla along the Columbia River near the town of Plymouth, Washington. The campground offers 32 sites, with 29 pull-through sites equipped with electric and water hookups, making it popular with RV campers. Despite being close to Highway 14, the tall trees provide a sense of seclusion. Situated in a high desert environment, the park features tall sage and Russian Olive trees, though shade is limited. Wildlife is abundant, with mule deer, waterfowl, and raptors commonly seen throughout the area. The separate day use area and boat ramp on the island provide protected access to Lake Umatilla for boating, water skiing, swimming, and fishing. Anglers target Chinook salmon, steelhead, walleye, sturgeon, and shad in these waters. McNary Dam and Visitor Center are located just two miles upstream, offering additional educational and recreational opportunities. The campground operates seasonally and accepts reservations through Recreation.gov. A 14-day stay limit within a 30-consecutive day period applies.
