About

Fishhook Park is located on the shores of Lake Sacajawea in Eastern Washington, where the Lower Snake River was dammed by Ice Harbor Lock and Dam. The park takes its name from Fishhook Rapids, which once existed nearby and where Lewis and Clark spent time in October 1805. Today the park is a popular destination for anglers seeking salmon and steelhead, as well as boaters and water sports enthusiasts drawn to the lake's black rock canyon scenery. The campground offers 41 family campsites with electric hookups, plus 11 primitive walk-in tent sites, two of which are group sites with sun shelters. A day-use group picnic shelter with electricity is also available. The waterfront setting provides mature shade trees scattered throughout the park, creating a comfortable environment for relaxation. A boat ramp gives campers easy access to the lake for fishing, boating, and swimming. Managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Fishhook Park combines historical significance with modern camping amenities. The park attracts visitors for camping, upland hunting, hiking, and various water activities. All campers must check in at the gatehouse before proceeding into the campground, and the park gate closes from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. daily.
