About

West Fork Teton Campground is a small, primitive tent campground nestled in the Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest along Montana's Rocky Mountain Front. With just 6 tent sites, this rustic campground offers solitude and direct access to the Bob Marshall Wilderness complex via nearby trailheads. The West Fork Teton River provides fishing opportunities for anglers seeking native trout. The campground provides basic amenities including vault toilets. Campers should be prepared to bring their own drinking water as potable water may not be available. The area is active bear habitat, and mandatory food storage in approved bear-resistant containers is strictly enforced. All food must be stored properly and removed from eating areas immediately after meals. Reached via a 39-mile drive northwest of Choteau on forest roads, this campground serves as an excellent basecamp for backcountry adventures into the Bob Marshall Wilderness. The seasonal operation typically runs from late spring through early fall, depending on snow conditions and road accessibility. A 14-day stay limit applies.
