About
Home Gulch Campground is situated along the scenic North Fork of the Sun River in the Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest, nestled between two dramatic cliffs at an elevation of 4,580 feet. The campground features 15 sites, most of which overlook the river and are shaded by aspen and alder trees. The interior road is narrow, with a maximum trailer length of 35 feet. The setting provides excellent opportunities for fishing rainbow and westslope cutthroat trout in the river, while a boat launch accommodates both motorized and non-motorized watercraft. Recreational opportunities include hiking on the nearby Mortimer Gulch National Recreation Trail and enjoying the tranquil riverside setting. This is bear country, and mandatory food storage is required. All food must be kept out of sight in approved containers, and food areas must be cleaned after eating. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations. Basic amenities include vault toilets and each site has a fire ring and table.
Directions
From Augusta, take Manix Street west about 4 miles, then continue west about 17 miles on Forest Road 108.
