About
Cave Mountain Campground is a primitive Forest Service campground located 18 miles west of Choteau, Montana, in the Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest. Situated at 5,200 feet elevation along the North Fork of the Teton River, the campground offers 18 total sites: 14 in the main campground area and 4 additional horse camping sites near a trailhead above the campground. The campground provides basic amenities including vault toilets with handicap accessibility and potable drinking water available from a hand pump. Fishing and hiking access are available directly from the campground. Maximum trailer length is 35 feet. This is bear country. Mandatory food storage regulations are strictly enforced. All food must be kept out of sight in approved bear-resistant containers, and food must be removed from the area immediately after eating. Motor vehicle use restrictions and fire restrictions may be in effect; check current conditions before arrival.

From Choteau, go 6 miles north on US 89, then 23 miles northwest on County Road 144 (Canyon Road).
