About

Mill Falls Campground sits at approximately 5,200 feet elevation on the Rocky Mountain Ranger District of the Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest, near Choteau, Montana. This small, primitive campground offers four campsites tucked along the South Fork of the Teton River. The tight layout accommodates tents and small campers only; larger RVs will not fit. A vault toilet and information kiosk are available, but there is no potable water, so campers must bring their own supply. The campground serves as a basecamp for exploring the adjacent Bob Marshall Wilderness. Drive one mile west to the end of Forest Road 109 to reach the South Fork trailhead, then hike a short distance to pristine Our Lake near the wilderness boundary. The area is excellent for viewing mountain goats year-round, as well as pika and yellow-bellied marmots. Limited fishing for brook, rainbow, and cutthroat trout is available in the river, though populations are low. Bears frequent this area, and mandatory food storage in approved containers is required. Keep all food out of sight and remove it from the area after eating. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservations and no fees. Access depends on seasonal road conditions; Forest Road 109 may be impassable during winter and early spring due to snow.
