Green Gulch Dispersed Camp Campground

Open — Open year-round for dispersed camping on a first-come, first-served basis. Winter access may be limited by snow and road conditions. No reservations.

About

Green Gulch Dispersed Camp Campground is located in the Rocky Mountain Range section of Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest in Teton County, Montana. As a dispersed camping area, this site offers primitive camping with no developed facilities or infrastructure. Campers seeking solitude and a true backcountry experience will find this location ideal. Bears frequently inhabit this area, making proper food storage mandatory. All food must be kept out of sight in approved bear-resistant containers, and the area must be kept clean of all food and attractants after eating. This requirement is strictly enforced for the safety of both campers and wildlife. Dispersed camping means there are no toilets, picnic tables, trash collection, treated water, fire grates, or other amenities. Campers must be self-sufficient and practice Leave No Trace principles. Access and conditions vary seasonally, particularly during winter months when snow may limit accessibility.
