Punderson Campground

Located in Newbury Township about 45 minutes east of Cleveland, Punderson State Park Campground sits within one of Ohio's finest glacial lake landscapes. The 741-acre natural lake, the state's largest, anchors a park known for its dense beech-maple forests and year-round recreational opportunities. The campground is divided into three areas with paved roads, offering 15 non-electric sites suited for tent campers, 155 electric sites with 20-amp service, and 20 full-service sites featuring 30/50-amp electric plus water and sewer hookups. Three group sites accommodate up to 25 people each. Every site includes a picnic table and fire ring. Centrally located showerhouses provide flush toilets and hot showers. A dump station serves RV campers, and the camp office loans games and rents kayaks and canoes. Beyond camping, the park offers swimming at a sandy beach, fishing for bass, bluegill, and crappie, and an extensive trail network for hiking and mountain biking. The championship 18-hole golf course and historic Punderson Manor Lodge round out the amenities. Winter brings cross-country skiing and ice fishing when conditions permit.

Directions

From I-271, take exit for US-322 East (Mayfield Road). Continue east on US-322 approximately 14 miles through Chardon. Turn left (north) onto State Route 87. The park entrance is about 1 mile ahead on the right at 11755 Kinsman Road.
