About

West Bank Shelter is a group picnic pavilion located on the western end of Okatibbee Dam in Lauderdale County, Mississippi. Operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, this day-use shelter provides a covered gathering space for group events, family reunions, and community gatherings. The facility can accommodate up to 150 people and features 15 electric hookups and water service. The shelter is situated adjacent to West Bank Beach and the 11,000-acre Okatibbee Lake, offering immediate access to swimming and fishing opportunities. Water slides, excessive water use, water balloons, and confetti are prohibited. Excessive noise including loud music and motorized equipment is not permitted. This is strictly a day-use facility. Check-in is at 9:00 AM and check-out is at 6:30 PM, with all guests required to vacate by sunset. No overnight camping is available at this shelter. Reservations are required through Recreation.gov with no refunds; weather cancellations may be rescheduled within 12 months.

Located at 8490 Okatibbee Dam Road in Collinsville, Mississippi, on the western end of Okatibbee Dam near the West Bank Day Use area and Okatibbee Resource Office.
