About
Twiltley Branch Campground sits on Okatibbee Lake in the Pascagoula River Basin, offering 4,000 acres of water surface for fishing, water skiing, and swimming. The campground is the only full-service facility managed by the Corps of Engineers at this 11,000-acre recreation area. Most sites are positioned directly on the water with crushed gravel pads, 20/30/50-amp electric service, and water hookups. The lake's extensive beaver flowages, stump beds, and old creek channels provide excellent habitat for largemouth bass and crappie. Eagles and hawks frequent the area. Upstream, Chicasawhay and Okatibbee Creeks flow through the Okatibbee State Wildlife Area for additional exploration. Summers are hot and humid with temperatures ranging from 70 to 98 degrees Fahrenheit.
Directions
From Meridian, MS, take SR 19 N for 8 miles and follow signs into the campground.
