Wellesley Island State Park sits on a pristine peninsula in the St. Lawrence River and offers the most extensive camping facilities in the Thousand Islands region. With 432 campsites, the park accommodates everyone from tent campers to large RVs, including 56 full hookup sites in the Fox loop. The park features a full-service marina with four boat launches, a sandy beach ideal for swimming and sunbathing, and a camp store and laundromat for camper convenience. The Minna Anthony Common Nature Center is a centerpiece of the park, sitting on 600 acres with educational displays, varied habitats including wooded wetlands and granite outcrops, and miles of trails for hiking, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing. The nature center offers programs for all ages and features a quarter-mile accessible trail and seasonal butterfly house. A nine-hole golf course is available on the island. For those seeking more comfort, the park offers year-round cabins and fully outfitted two- and three-bedroom vacation cottages with full kitchens, bathrooms, and all amenities.
