Wellesley Island State Park stands as the premier camping destination in New York's Thousand Islands region, offering 432 campsites across multiple loops with diverse accommodation options. The Fox loop features 56 full hookup sites with electric, water, and sewer connections, while other areas provide electric-only hookups or primitive tent camping. Twelve vacation rental cottages and a cabin colony expand lodging options for those seeking more amenities. The park's location on Wellesley Island in the St. Lawrence River provides outstanding recreational opportunities centered on the water. Four boat launches and a full-service marina with rentals give easy access to world-class fishing waters known for perch, smallmouth bass, northern pike, and muskie. A sandy swimming beach operates during summer months, and a 9-hole golf course offers scenic rounds with river views. The Minna Anthony Common Nature Center encompasses 600 acres of preserved habitat with hiking trails and educational programs. A quarter-mile accessible trail leads to picnic areas, making the nature center welcoming to all visitors. Full campground amenities include hot showers, bathhouses, a camp store, laundromat, and playground facilities.
