Waverly Day Use is situated in Columbus, Mississippi on Columbus Lake along the Tennessee Tombigbee Waterway. The area features two rental shelters set within a forest of pines and hardwoods, where deer, various bird species, and squirrels are commonly spotted. A walking trail takes visitors along the shoreline of the Tennessee Tombigbee Waterway, offering scenic views over the water where fish and otters may be observed.
The facility provides access to the diverse recreational opportunities of the Tennessee Tombigbee Waterway, including hunting on Corps of Engineers land in Mississippi and Alabama, year-round fishing for multiple species, boating, waterskiing, and swimming. The area is popular for family gatherings, birthday celebrations, and picnics. Note that the two shelters at Waverly Day Use do not have electricity, though they do provide water and picnic tables.
Waverly Day Use operates seasonally from the beginning of March through the end of October. The facility is managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mobile District and reservations for the shelters can be made through Recreation.gov.

Waverly Day Use is located in Columbus, Mississippi, along Columbus Lake on the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway. From downtown Columbus, take Highway 182 East to Highway 69 South. After approximately 5 miles, turn left onto Lake Lowndes Road, which leads directly to the park.
