About

Lake Lowndes State Park Campground occupies a prime lakeside location on a 150-acre impoundment near Columbus in northeast Mississippi. The park has been a regional recreation destination since 1958, offering a well-maintained campground alongside extensive day-use facilities. The developed camping area features 50 RV sites positioned along the lakeshore, each equipped with full hookups including water, sewer, and electric service with 50/30/20 amp connections. Every site includes a picnic table and grill. The campground's comfort station contains hot showers, a laundry room with washers and dryers, and a climate-controlled sitting area. A dump station is located at the entrance to the camping area. For tent campers, eight primitive sites are tucked into scenic wooded areas with water and restrooms within walking distance. Beyond camping, the park offers a disc golf course, fitness gym, tennis courts, playgrounds, playing fields, picnic pavilions, and hiking trails. The lake supports bass, bream, crappie, and catfish fishing from the bank or by boat, with a launch ramp available. A community firepit installed by the Friends of Lake Lowndes provides a gathering spot for overnight guests.
