About

Lake Lowndes State Park Campground is situated on a beautiful 150-acre lake eight miles southeast of Columbus, Mississippi, providing complete recreational facilities for families, groups, and individuals. The campground features 50 developed lakeside RV sites with full hookups including water, electricity (50/30/20 amp), and sewer connections. Each site includes a picnic table and grill. A modern comfort station within the campground offers hot showers, laundry facilities with coin and card-operated washers and dryers, and a sitting area. For tent campers, the park offers eight primitive sites in scenic wooded areas with water and restrooms within walking distance. All tent sites are first-come, first-served and include designated fire rings. The campground also features a small playground for children and a community firepit area installed in December 2023 for gatherings around the campfire. Beyond camping, Lake Lowndes offers extensive recreational opportunities including an 18-hole disc golf course, six tennis courts with a quarter-mile walking track, an indoor basketball court, boat launch, fishing for catfish, crappie, bass and bream, and kayak rentals available at the gate house. Water skiing, tubing, and jet skis are permitted March through September from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The park also features pavilions, playgrounds, playing fields, equestrian trails, mountain bike trails, and nature trails. A $2 per person entrance fee applies (children 5 and under free).
