Blue Bluff Campground and Recreation Area sits on the Aberdeen Lake section of the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway in northeast Mississippi. The campground takes its name from the dramatic clay and limestone bluffs rising 80 feet above the water along the park's eastern boundary, offering sweeping views of Aberdeen Lake and the nearby lock and dam. Managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, this Class-A facility provides 92 well-shaded campsites with concrete pads, electric and water hookups, picnic tables, fire rings with grills, pedestal grills, and lantern posts. The recreation area caters to both overnight campers and day visitors with a swimming beach, multi-use court, playground, hiking trails, and accessible fishing dock. Anglers target bass, walleye, crappie, catfish, and sunfish from the dock or by boat. The adjacent Aberdeen Lock and Dam offers tours where visitors can watch barges and recreational boats navigate the waterway. Facilities include modern restrooms with hot showers, a sewage dump station, and laundry facilities. ADA-accessible sites and facilities are available. The campground operates year-round with gates open 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., though an emergency exit is available for registered campers. The town of Aberdeen is minutes away, and Tupelo, birthplace of Elvis Presley, is a 45-minute drive north.

Directions

From Highway 45 in Aberdeen, Mississippi, travel to the intersection of Commerce and Meridian Streets in the downtown area. From Commerce turn north on Meridian and cross a railroad track and a bridge. The recreation area is the first right turn after the bridge.
