Water Valley Landing Day Use Area
This is a day use area only with no overnight camping. Day use access requires a $5 per vehicle fee for boat ramp and swimming beach. Picnic shelters are currently first-come, first-served.
About
Water Valley Landing Day Use Area sits along the banks of Enid Lake in the forests of northeast Mississippi. The lake is part of a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers dam project on the Yoccona River, creating nearly 16,000 acres of water surrounded by 44,000 acres of forest. The day use area provides boat ramp access to the lake, which has been recognized as one of America's Top 10 Fishing Spots with abundant white crappie, bass, and catfish. Enid Lake holds the world record for white crappie at 5 pounds, 3 ounces. A swimming beach, picnic sites with tables and grills, a large picnic shelter available for group reservations, and a playground trail and interpretive trail round out the recreational offerings. This is a day use facility and does not include overnight camping. Campers seeking overnight sites should book at the separate Water Valley Landing Campground, which offers 29 electric hookup sites nearby.
Directions
From Interstate 55, take exit 227 onto State Route 32 east and continue for 17 miles. Turn onto County Road 53 and continue for 2 miles, following signs to the boat ramp.
