Persimmon Hill Campground sits along the forested banks of Enid Lake, a 16,000-acre reservoir on the Yocona River in northeast Mississippi. Operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, this well-maintained facility offers 72 spacious campsites with full hookups, modern amenities including flush toilets and showers, and family-friendly recreation facilities. The campground has earned recognition twice as one of America's Top 100 Family Campgrounds. Enid Lake is renowned as one of the top 10 fishing destinations in America, holding the world record for white crappie at 5 pounds, 3 ounces. Anglers can target abundant populations of white crappie, bass, and catfish year-round. The campground provides convenient boat ramps for accessing the lake, and fishing tournaments are held annually. Recreational opportunities extend beyond the water. An interpretive trail winds through the campground, while additional hiking and biking trails traverse the 44,000 acres of surrounding forests. The campground features a playground, picnic areas with grills and tables, and three large group picnic shelters available for reservation. A swimming beach operates seasonally from April through September. Memphis, Tennessee is located approximately one hour north, offering additional attractions and amenities.

Directions

From I-55, take exit 233 onto County Road 36 south, cross the dam. Turn onto County Road 34 and continue 1 mile, following the signs into the campground.
