About

Persimmon Hill sits along the banks of Enid Lake in the forests of northeast Mississippi. The campground has been selected twice as one of America's Top 100 Family Campgrounds, offering 72 campsites with 50-amp electric and water hookups, flush toilets, and paved driveways. Sites can accommodate RVs up to 62 feet. A playground, interpretive trail, and three large group picnic shelters provide additional recreation. Enid Lake is part of a dam project on the Yocona River, creating nearly 16,000 acres of water surrounded by 44,000 acres of forest. The lake has been recognized as one of the top 10 fishing locations in America, with abundant white crappie, bass, and catfish. Fishing tournaments are held annually. Boat ramps are available at the campground. Hiking trails wind along the lakeshore offering opportunities for hiking, biking, and horseback riding. Memphis, Tennessee is about an hour away. No horses or livestock are permitted at the campground, and campers must purchase firewood locally rather than transporting it.

Directions

From I-55, take exit 233 onto County Road 36 south, cross the dam. Turn onto County Road 34 and continue 1 mile, following signs into the campground.
