About
Chickasaw Hill Day Use Area provides a peaceful lakeside setting along the banks of Enid Lake in the forested hills of northern Mississippi. This family-oriented facility offers picnic shelters, a swimming beach, boat ramps, and playground areas for day visitors to enjoy.
Enid Lake has earned recognition as one of America's Top 10 Fishing Spots, with abundant white crappie, bass, and catfish. The lake holds the world record for white crappie at an impressive 5 pounds, 3 ounces, and hosts annual fishing tournaments. The lake spans almost 16,000 acres created by a dam project on the Yocona River, surrounded by 44,000 acres of thick forests.
The facility is operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and provides access to excellent boating, swimming, and fishing opportunities. Picnic shelters are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The nearby towns of Water Valley and Batesville offer additional amenities, while Memphis, Tennessee is approximately 60 miles away.
