About
Long Branch Campground sits on the south side of Enid Lake, a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers reservoir created by damming the Yocona River. The lake covers nearly 16,000 acres and is surrounded by 44,000 acres of forest, providing excellent habitat for wildlife including deer, squirrels, and numerous bird species. Enid Lake is nationally recognized as one of America's Top 10 Fishing Spots, holding the world record for white crappie at 5 pounds, 3 ounces. The campground offers 14 primitive tent-only sites with no utility hookups. Each site is equipped with a picnic table, fire ring, charcoal grill, and lantern holder. A centrally located comfort station with flush toilets serves the campground. Additional amenities include a playground, five picnic sites, a beach for swimming, and a boat ramp for lake access. The surrounding forest provides a tranquil setting for campers seeking a quiet experience away from the larger, more developed recreation areas on the lake. Water Valley and Batesville are nearby for supplies, dining, and services.
Directions
Take Exit 227 off of U.S. Interstate 55 toward Water Valley, MS. Go east on Mississippi Highway 32 for 3.5 miles. Turn left onto County Road 26 into Long Branch Recreation Area.
