About
Ford's Well Campground is a unique equestrian-focused campground located on the south side of Enid Lake in northern Mississippi. The site holds historical significance as an early 1900s destination where visitors came to drink or bathe in therapeutic waters from Mr. W. B. Ford's well, and served as a way station for a major stagecoach route through North Mississippi.
The campground features 18 spacious sites, each with a 70-foot RV pad, full hookups (water, electric, and sewer), charcoal grill, picnic table, fire ring, and hitching rail for horses. An accessible shower house with flush toilets is centrally located. Additional amenities include a picnic shelter, playground, dump station, horse shower station, horse waste deposit bin, and mounting block.
The 20.8-mile Spyglass Hill Trail offers moderately hilly terrain with rock outcrops and scenic views of Enid Lake, perfect for horseback riding, hiking, or mountain biking. The campground preserves five historic interpretive buildings including a water well with gazebo, log cabin, blacksmith shop, outhouse, and barn. Campsites are nestled among native pine and oak trees with distant lake views. ATVs are not permitted. Nearby recreation areas provide access to boating, fishing, and swimming.
