About

Washegum Campground sits within Lake Metigoshe State Park, one of North Dakota's most popular year-round destinations in the Turtle Mountains near the Canadian border. The campground features modern sites with electric and water hookups in a densely wooded setting. Sites are positioned close together but separated by mature vegetation, with water spigots shared between pairs of sites. A comfort station with flush toilets and showers serves the campground, and a dump station is located nearby. The surrounding park offers exceptional recreation opportunities. Over 13 miles of trails wind through the forest for hiking and mountain biking, including a three-mile self-guided interpretive trail. Lake Metigoshe provides fishing for walleye, northern pike, perch, bluegill, and crappie, with a boat ramp and four fishing docks available. Kayak and canoe rentals are offered by the hour or full day. An off-leash dog park, swimming beach, playground, and amphitheater round out the amenities. Reservations can be made 95 days in advance through reserveNDparks.com or by calling 800-807-4723. Check-in is 4:00 PM and checkout is 3:00 PM. The campground operates seasonally, with the comfort station and water shutting off October 4 for the winter season.
