Howard Campground

Open — Open year-round with limited services from fall through spring. Full-service camping season runs through September 30. After October 1, campsite water is shut off, and the Howard campground comfort station closes September 20. Services are weather and staffing-dependent during the off-season.

About

Howard Campground is one of the main camping areas within Grahams Island State Park, located on Devils Lake in Ramsey County, North Dakota. Devils Lake is North Dakota's largest natural lake and hosts world-class fishing opportunities for walleye, pike, perch, white bass, muskie, and crappie. The park hosts numerous national and regional fishing tournaments throughout the year. The campground features large, shaded sites nestled beneath oak and ash trees, offering both modern and primitive camping options. Modern sites include full hookups with electricity, water, and sewer connections, while double sites accommodate multiple camping units. The park's unique wooded landscape provides a secluded camping experience just steps from the lakeshore. Beyond camping, the park offers extensive recreational facilities including a swim beach, visitor center, boat rentals, hiking and biking trails, and winter activities such as groomed cross-country ski trails and ice fishing. The Sivert Thompson Activity Center and picnic shelters are available for group gatherings. A centrally located dog park provides off-leash space for pets.

Located at 152 S. Duncan Road, Devils Lake, ND 58301. The park is accessed via a causeway on Grahams Island in Devils Lake.
