About

Warm River Campground is situated along the slow-moving Warm River in the Caribou-Targhee National Forest of southeastern Idaho, at an elevation of 5,200 feet. The campground features a mix of camping options including 11 tent-only sites, standard sites (some with electric and water hookups), and one large group site that can accommodate up to 100 guests. Thickets of willow line the riverbanks while pine trees provide partial shade throughout the campground. The campground is beloved for its river tubing opportunities on the gentle Warm River, as well as excellent fishing for whitefish, brook trout, rainbow trout, and cutthroat trout. Numerous hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding trails in the immediate area lead to natural springs, waterfalls, and remnants of old railroad lines and tunnels. The campground is located about 9 miles from Ashton, Idaho, which provides gas and grocery services. Island Park, Yellowstone National Park, and Grand Teton National Park are all within easy driving distance, making this an excellent base camp for exploring the Greater Yellowstone area.

Directions

From Ashton, Idaho, travel northeast on Highway 47 to Warm River. Turn right onto Fish Creek Road and continue 1/4-mile to the campground entrance.
