About

Box Canyon Campground perches on the canyon rim above the Henry's Fork of the Snake River, one of the West's premier trout streams. The campground offers 16 single-family sites and 2 double-family sites nestled beneath lodgepole pine and Douglas-fir, with two pull-through sites available for larger rigs up to 40 feet. Each site includes a picnic table, fire ring, and grill. The campground provides vault toilets, potable water from hydrants, and a bear-proof dumpster. A 3-mile trail traces the canyon rim from the campground, with shorter spur trails dropping down to the river for fishing access. Located 28 miles south of West Yellowstone and one mile south of the Island Park Ranger Station on Highway 20, Box Canyon provides easy access to Yellowstone National Park and the surrounding Caribou-Targhee National Forest recreation opportunities.
