Grandview Campground is nestled along the Mesa Falls Scenic Byway at 6,500 feet elevation in the Caribou-Targhee National Forest, about 14 miles northeast of Ashton, Idaho. The campground sits adjacent to the Lower Mesa Falls Overlook, where the Henrys Fork of the Snake River plunges 85 feet, and is just one mile from the 110-foot Upper Mesa Falls, which creates spectacular rainbows in its mist during sunny mornings. The campground offers seven single-family sites and two double-family sites, all recently upgraded with 15/30/50-amp electric hookups. Each site includes picnic tables and campfire rings with grills. The facility provides vault toilets, drinking water, and trash collection, with firewood available for purchase from the camp host. Gravel roads and parking spurs accommodate RVs up to 65 feet in length. The surrounding area offers abundant recreation opportunities. The Mesa Falls Recreation Area features walkways and overlooks, with Upper Falls offering an accessible path and interpretive center. An abandoned railroad bed serves as a multi-use trail from Bear Gulch to West Yellowstone, Montana. The area is home to moose, bear, deer, elk, eagles, osprey, and other wildlife. Harriman State Park, located 11 miles north, provides additional wildlife viewing and catch-and-release fly fishing opportunities.

Directions

From Ashton, Idaho, head east on ID-47 (Mesa Falls Scenic Byway). The road curves north past Warm River. Turn left at the Lower Mesa Falls Overlook; the campground is on the left, with overlook parking on the right, approximately 14 miles from Ashton.
