About

Warden Station Horse Camp is a primitive camping facility in the Talladega National Forest, designed primarily for equestrians but welcoming to all campers. The 45 campsites accommodate tents and small RVs, providing a rustic base for exploring more than 30 miles of multi-use trails. The trail system features four loop trails open to horseback riding, mountain biking, and hiking. Located within the Choccolocco Wildlife Management Area, the camp is popular with hunters during season. Nearby attractions include Coleman Lake Recreation Area and the Pinhoti National Recreation Trail. The area is managed by the Shoal Creek Ranger District. Facilities are minimal with vault toilets only. There is no potable water on-site, so campers must bring their own supply. Day use costs $3 per vehicle, and overnight camping is $6 per night, payable with cash or check. Camping is limited to 14 consecutive days.
