About

Coleman Lake Recreation Area is a well-appointed campground in the Shoal Creek District of Talladega National Forest. The recently renovated facility provides 39 campsites, all equipped with water and electrical hookups, serving both tent campers and RV users. Two modern bathhouses with flush toilets offer convenience, and potable water is available throughout the campground. The centerpiece is a 21-acre lake supporting fishing, swimming, and non-motorized boating. The campground also serves as an access point for the Pinhoti Trail, making it a solid base for hikers exploring the Talladega Mountains. A 29-unit picnic area and a reservable shelter accommodate day visitors. Accessibility is a priority here, with seven campsites and two comfort stations designed for visitors with disabilities. Most sites handle RVs up to 35 feet. The campground operates first-come, first-served from mid-March through early December.
