About

At 2,910 acres, Chattahoochee Bend State Park is one of Georgia's largest state parks, preserving five miles of river frontage in a graceful bend of the Chattahoochee. The campground caters to multiple camping styles: RV sites feature 30/50-amp electric and water hookups with pull-through and back-in options, while walk-in tent sites and riverfront platform sites appeal to those seeking a more primitive experience. Backcountry sites require a 5.5-mile hike, and Adirondack shelters offer screened three-sided structures for group camping. The park recently expanded its cottage offerings to six, all featuring screened porches, fire pits, and grills. Centrally located bathhouses provide hot showers and flush toilets, and a dump station serves RV campers. A paved boat ramp makes launching kayaks and canoes straightforward, while over six miles of wooded trails are open for hiking and nature photography. The gift shop sells basic supplies. Reservations are available up to 13 months in advance through Georgia State Parks' reservation system. Park gates are open 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Pets are welcome on leashes no longer than six feet and must accompany owners at all times; they are not permitted in buildings or swimming areas.
