Located at the southern tip of pristine Wallowa Lake in northeastern Oregon, Wallowa Lake State Park is one of the crown jewels of the Oregon State Parks system. The campground sits in a spectacular mountain setting, surrounded on three sides by the 9,000-foot snow-capped peaks of the Wallowa Mountains, often called the "Alps of Oregon." The park offers diverse camping options with 121 full hookup sites that can accommodate RVs up to 90 feet, 89 tent sites, 2 yurts, 1 cabin, and 3 group tent areas that each accommodate up to 25 people. The campground operates year-round, though most sites are available seasonally. During winter months (October through mid-May), the park offers limited reservable sites including yurts, hookup sites, and some first-come, first-served sites. All campsites include a picnic table and fire ring, with access to flush restrooms and hot showers. Full hookup sites feature sewer and electricity, with water hookups available from mid-May through September. Maximum site length is 90 feet, making the park very big rig friendly. The location provides excellent access to outdoor recreation. Wallowa Lake Marina offers boat rentals and moorage, while the nearby Wallowa Lake Tramway provides breathtaking views from the summit. The area is renowned for fishing, boating, swimming, hiking, and wildlife viewing. The park's day-use area and boat ramp open at 6 a.m. daily. With its combination of modern amenities and wilderness access, Wallowa Lake State Park serves as an ideal base camp for exploring the Eagle Cap Wilderness and the scenic Wallowa Valley.

Directions

From Joseph, Oregon, head south on OR-351 for approximately 6 miles. The park entrance is well-marked on the left side of the road.
