About

Wallowa Lake State Park occupies prime real estate at the southern shore of Wallowa Lake, a 1,500-acre glacially formed lake backed by the dramatic peaks of the Wallowa Mountains. The park provides a basecamp for exploring the Eagle Cap Wilderness and the surrounding Wallowa-Whitman National Forest, with trailheads to alpine lakes and granite peaks within easy reach. The campground divides into multiple loops offering 121 full-hookup sites with 30-amp electric, water, and sewer connections, including 36 pull-through sites. An additional 88 tent sites have water access nearby. Two yurts sleep five each and include heating, a futon couch, and bunk beds. Three group tent areas accommodate up to 25 people. Each campsite has a picnic table and fire ring. Hot showers, flush toilets, an RV dump station, and a playground round out the facilities. The park operates year-round, though water service to individual sites shuts down from October through May 18. During winter months, one heated restroom building and a frost-free spigot at site D17 remain available. No generators are permitted anywhere in the park. Food must be stored in hard-sided vehicles due to bear and deer activity in the area.
