About

Walleye Campground at Lyman Lake State Park provides camping access to one of eastern Arizona's most scenic high-desert reservoirs. Located 11 miles south of St. Johns at 6,000 feet elevation, the park encompasses 1,200 acres of shoreline along a 1,500-acre lake fed by the Little Colorado River. The campground offers a mix of 38 hookup sites (13 with full water/electric/sewer, 25 with water and electric) and 18 non-hookup tent sites. The park is best known for having Arizona's fastest-growing walleye population, attracting anglers year-round. Other fish species include largemouth bass, channel catfish, and common carp. Beyond fishing, visitors can explore petroglyphs on a ranger-led tour to Peninsula Petroglyph Trail, hike the Ultimate Petroglyph Trail, or enjoy boating and swimming in the lake. Facilities include modern flush restrooms with hot water and showers, a camp store selling permits, ice, groceries, and firewood, plus a dump station and fish cleaning station. The park operates year-round with no RV length restrictions, making it accessible to large rigs traveling through the region.
