About
Wallashuck Campground is situated on Lake Red Rock, managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Located just 10 minutes from Pella, known for its Dutch heritage, and 15 minutes from Knoxville, the campground sits in a hardwood forest offering shade and scenic lake views. The facility has 83 standard electric campsites across three loops (Wood, Wallashuck, and PGRO), with 30-50 amp hookups accommodating RVs up to 50 feet. Lake Red Rock provides excellent boating, water skiing, and swimming opportunities. Miles of water trails are designated for kayakers and canoeists along the shoreline. Anglers can target crappie, largemouth and striped bass, walleye, channel and flathead catfish, northern pike, and bluegill. The 15-mile paved Volksweg Trail stretches west from Pella for hiking and biking. Wildlife viewing is exceptional around the lake. American White Pelicans migrate through in spring and fall, while bald eagles can be observed from November through March. White-tailed deer, turkeys, and other small animals are commonly seen in the area.
