About
Less than an hour from Kansas City, Wallace State Park is an island of serenity in northwest Missouri. The park's peaceful, family-oriented campgrounds accommodate both RVs and tents with a mix of basic and electric campsites, including 50-amp service at select sites. Walk-in tent sites are available for those seeking more seclusion. Modern amenities include restrooms with hot showers and a dump station. The park is fully reservable through the Missouri State Parks system. Outdoor recreation centers around the 6-acre Lake Allaman, where visitors can fish for bass, bluegill, and catfish, or boat using electric motors only. Four scenic trails wind through wooded hillsides with benches placed along the way for relaxation. Picnic sites shaded by mature trees are scattered throughout the park, and playground equipment is located near campgrounds 2 and 4. The park also features picnic shelters including an enclosed shelter with heating, air conditioning, and kitchen facilities. Wallace State Park is adjacent to Trice-Dedman Memorial Woods, a Nature Conservancy property that preserves one of the best examples of pre-settlement forest in northwest Missouri. The park offers interpretive programs year-round and maintains a welcoming atmosphere for families and outdoor enthusiasts seeking a quiet escape.
