About

Weston Bend State Park's Open Shelter is a reservable day-use picnic facility situated in the park's scenic day-use area. The shelter accommodates up to 50 guests and includes two large pedestal grills, picnic tables with at least one extended-end accessible table, electrical outlets, and a water spigot nearby. Accessible restrooms are available during the on-season, with an accessible pathway featuring a brief 5.9% slope. The park itself spans 1,133 acres on the east bank of the Missouri River in Platte County near Weston, Missouri. While this shelter is a day-use facility and not for overnight camping, the park does offer a separate campground with basic, electric, and full-hookup sites for those seeking overnight accommodations. The park features scenic overlooks of the Missouri River, a 3-mile paved bike trail, hiking trails, and a 1.75-acre off-leash dog park. Note that the larger enclosed Bee Creek Shelter (converted tobacco barn, capacity 125) is closed throughout 2026 for improvement projects. This listing is for the smaller open shelter in the day-use area, which remains operational.
