About
Crowder State Park Campground provides 1,912 acres of forested, rugged terrain in the rolling green hills of northern Missouri, approximately 4 miles west of Trenton. The family-oriented campground offers a variety of camping options including basic campsites, electric sites, and two platform tent sites, all complemented by modern restrooms and showers. The campground features shaded sites and convenient access to park amenities. The park's extensive trail system spans more than 17 miles, accommodating hikers, mountain bikers, backpackers, and equestrians through diverse terrain of hills and deep ravines. Crowder Lake, an 18-acre body of water, offers fishing opportunities for bass, bluegill, channel catfish, and crappie, as well as boating with electric motors only. Additional amenities include picnic sites and shelters scattered throughout the park, a playground, and an organized group camp. The park also provides a special-use camping area for those seeking more primitive experiences. Named after Major General Enoch H. Crowder, founder of the Selective Service System, the park operates with some seasonal service variations. During the main season from mid-April through October, full services including water, showers, and the dump station are operational. The campground remains open year-round, though off-season campers should note that potable water is available from a frost-free spigot at Campsite 10. The campground gate closes at 10 p.m. nightly, and camping is limited to 15 days within any 30-consecutive-day period.
